Conservatory/El Burro - Houston, TX
Houston, Texas; the birthplace of Beyoncé, Patrick Swayze, Travis Scott, and Jimmy Butler to name a few, has a whole lot more to offer than just it’s star-studded list of natives.
Conservatory is Houston’s first underground beer garden and food hall located underneath Downtown’s Prohibition Supperclub. It is home to 4 local food vendors. Walking into Conservatory was like walking into Taste Bud Heaven. There’s Arte Pizza, El Burro & The Bull BBQ, The Pho Spot and Muku Bar which serves Poke and Tempura. Picking one vendor was hard but, being the carnivore I am, I was drawn to El Burro & The Bull for the beef brisket with a side of mac & cheese.
The food presentation was nothing spectacular but OMG, the brisket was some of the best I’ve ever had. To wash it down my I went with Blood Orange, a cider beer from Austin, TX which honestly, tasted a lot like a mimosa. Choosing a drink was tougher than picking out my meal because they have more than 60 beer options.
Aside from the delicious meal options, Conservatory is also esthetically pleasing. From a beautiful staircase, lots of greenery, to plenty of open space and seating, Conservatory would even be ideal for large groups or hosting an event. And did I mention they offer happy hour daily from 4-6pm? Needless to say, I’ll be back!
